What is Chinese Medicine?
It is a system of health care which has been developed in China for over 2,000 years. This health care system includes Acupuncture, Herbal Medicinals, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle counseling. Each of these modalities is customized to that patient’s specific needs (e.g. food recommendations won't be generic responses of the kind that are good for anybody anyway. They specifically address the type of imbalance that is causing that specific patient’s symptoms).

While in our health care system we are used to looking at the body as a complex machine, Chinese medicine looks at the body as if it is an eco-system. If the eco-system has been altered in one area, other problems will appear elsewhere.

Does acupuncture hurt?
Sometimes you feel a pinch, but often times you feel nothing. There have been many times that a patient doesn’t even know a needle waS applied (usually in larger muscles). Also, if there is some discomfort, let your acupuncturist know and they can use smaller needles.

Needles are disposable, and much thinner than the hypodermic needles we are used to for injections.Depending on the gauges as many as five acupuncture needles can fit into the eye of a hypodermic needle.

Why choose Chinese Medicine?
  • As an alternative to pharmaceuticals and their side effects.
  • Your symptoms and problems are complicated and need to be addressed wholly.
  • You are not getting the desired results elsewhere.
  • To avoid surgery which may be costly, risky, and sometimes ineffective.
  • As more cost effective health care.
  • You are pregnant and cannot take pharmaceuticals for your health problems.
